Company Gains Traction in Defense and National Security Sector for its Patented Safe Pro Object Threat Detection (SPOTD) Technology for Battlespace Awareness
Safe Pro Group Inc. (Nasdaq: SPAI) (“Safe Pro” or the “Company”), a leading provider of artificial intelligence (AI)-driven security solutions, today provided a first quarter 2025 corporate update.
“Q1 2025 marked the beginning of a transformative phase for Safe Pro Group as we gained meaningful traction with U.S. government stakeholders. Interest in our Safe Pro Object Threat Detection platform has accelerated, resulting in multiple joint bid preparations alongside leading Department of Defense prime contractors. This development directly aligns us with the Defense Department’s proposed multi-billion-dollar initiative to expand drone deployment across the armed forces. With over two years of proven, battle-tested performance, we believe Safe Pro is uniquely positioned to capture a significant share of this emerging defense technology market while advancing our role in next-generation threat detection and battlefield modernization,” said Dan Erdberg, Chairman and CEO of Safe Pro Group Inc.
The Evolving Battlefield Requires New Threat Detection Technologies
As current conflicts like the war in Ukraine have shown, the future battlefield will be shaped by the increasing usage of lethal small drone threats, landmines, anti-personnel devices, and cluster munitions. Whether related to new battlefield tactics such as remote mining where drones are strategically delivering small mines or the result of countries exiting the Ottawa Convention on anti-personnel landmines, the result will certainly lead to an increased proliferation of deadly explosive threats. The Company believes these trends are increasingly being recognized by today’s military leadership and has high confidence in the capabilities of its Safe Pro Object Threat Detection (SPOTD) technology which is purpose-built for this evolving environment — leveraging drone-collected visual data to pin-point potential threats in real-time, providing soldiers of today, and in the future, with potentially life-saving domain awareness.
Setting the Agenda for Domain Awareness on the Future Battlefield
During the first quarter, the Company’s team successfully completed a series of high-level briefings with key officials at the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), leading DoD Prime Contractors, and participated in multiple on-base presentations discussing the future of soldier safety and battlefield awareness using AI-powered drone-based imagery processing. During these briefings the Company conducted in-depth technical briefings centered around its proprietary SPOTD platform and its relevance to both domestic (CONUS) and overseas (OCONUS) missions. Safe Pro had the privilege of meeting with senior leaders from the U.S. Army and tier-one defense contractors, sharing not just theoretical capabilities, but real-world results—specifically, how SPOTD is actively supporting government and humanitarian operations in Ukraine with landmine and unexploded ordnance (UXO) detection and remediation. At these meetings, the Company had direct access to senior military and prime contracting decision-makers involved with procuring critical enabling technologies which will be required to support the future of military situational awareness – from force protection to C6ISR.
Unlike traditional technology briefings, Safe Pro’s presentations were grounded in field-proven data, providing clear demonstrations of how SPOTD enhances situational awareness in actual operational environments. The direct access granted—and the feedback received from military and industry leaders—underscored the urgency and value of the Company’s solutions.
These meetings confirmed three key takeaways that set SPOTD apart:
- Differentiation: Safe Pro’s patented AI-powered small object threat detection capabilities are unmatched in the current landscape.
- Operational Relevance: SPOTD addresses critical gaps in detecting small, hard-to-spot threats—such as landmines and UXO—that remain a top concern for modern military operations.
- System Integration: The Company’s technology is designed to integrate into existing military platforms, delivering actionable intelligence in real-time.
First Quarter and Recent Developments
Supporting Safe Pro’s efforts to engage the armed forces, it is actively leveraging its operational milestones including:
- Built on nearly three years of actual usage in Ukraine, Safe Pro has created one of the world’s largest datasets of landmine and UXO, an asset that unlocks a new high margin revenue stream for the Company which it has begun to monetize with prime contractors and government agencies with its first data delivery in April.
- Entered Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) with Ukraine’s National Center of Excellence for Mine Action and Environmental Security, Ukraine’s leading grain export and agricultural organization NIBULON Ltd., and a leading University, the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Through these relationships, many of Ukraine’s leading commercial and governmental stakeholders have indicated a desire to work to integrate Safe Pro’s patented AI-powered image processing technology, SpotlightAI™, into their demining methodologies and training programs as they seek to modernize the nation’s approach to landmine detection and clearance.
- In Q1 SpotlightAI™ surpassed 1.3 million real-world image processing milestone detecting over 23,000 explosive threats.
“Safe Pro is entering an exciting new growth phase in its ongoing mission - one where we are leveraging our portfolio of technologies to modernize and improve the safety of personnel, whether they are soldiers on the battlefield, law enforcement in our communities, or conducting humanitarian missions around the world protecting civilians from the threats of landmines. We are pleased with the progress and execution of our teams and are confident in the potential for significant growth ahead of us,” concluded Mr. Erdberg.
Investors are encouraged to refer to the Company’s Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the quarter ended March 31, 2025, as filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
