Finding Joy & Fulfillment In Menopause: Faith-Based Guide for Women Published

Betty Johansen has announced the release of a new companion guide to her self-help title, "Dancing Through Menopause."

-- The newest article from Betty Johansen offers an outline overview of her book, "Dancing Through Menopause,", introducing her philosophy and approach to menopause as a new stage of life, just as rich and full of potential as those that came before.

According to Midi Health, over 6,000 women begin menopause each day in the US alone. However, as Johansen laments, resources are scarce for women entering this new life phase, and discussions regarding the topic can be difficult, as many find menopause to be a private affair or even taboo, in some cases.

Johansen defies this interpretation, however, presenting a healthier and more emotionally accessible perspective, empowering women while also preparing them for the changes to come. In doing so, she counters the common narrative that menopause is something to fear, something that will inevitably lead to interpersonal strife and bodily disruption.

The primary metaphor Johansen employs in her work is as follows: the body has rhythms, much like music. As one might learn to move to different music, one can learn to adjust to new biological rhythms as well, “dancing” through this new and sometimes difficult time.

As Johansen points out in her article and in the book itself, those who go through menopause often emerge on the other side stronger and more confident and self-actualized. She encourages goal setting and prioritization of the self, queuing up the proverbial “musical movement” as an opportunity for further growth rather than an end point in a journey.

She explains in the new online guide, “Menopause isn’t merely a phase to endure; it’s an opportunity to thrive. The title reflects a lively approach to what can be a challenging time, emphasizing that with the right mindset and strategies, this period can be a vibrant dance of self-discovery and renewal.”

The article is the latest in a series of publications from Johansen, whose works typically revolve around Christian faith, family, and friendship. "Dancing Through Menopause," as well as the newly published companion article, can be found on Johansen’s website at the link below.
