Flanagan Law, P.C., an Atlanta personal injury trial firm, has resolved a car accident case on behalf of Jessica Sarai, a nurse practitioner whose vehicle was rear-ended at high impact by a commercial truck on Interstate 285. The case settled for $2.5 million after years of litigation, according to the firm's founder, Brendan Flanagan. Sarai described the crash, her injuries and the course of the case in a review she posted to Google in September 2026. The firm did not identify the trucking company or its insurer.

Sarai has worked for nearly two decades as an intensive care nurse practitioner at a Level I trauma center in Atlanta, treating critically ill patients after serious accidents and talking with their families. The crash made her a trauma patient herself. She wrote that it caused "serious herniated disc injuries in my neck that required extensive surgery."

"Another attorney referred me to Brendan because my case needed an experienced litigator who was genuinely willing to take a difficult case to trial," Sarai wrote.

The case was handled by Brendan Flanagan car accident lawyer and attorney Morgan Lyndall. Sarai wrote that it grew well past what she first expected. "What initially seemed like it should have been a straightforward car accident claim ultimately became a complex personal injury case involving significant injuries, neurosurgery, years of litigation, experts, depositions, and extensive preparation for trial," she wrote.

The claim proceeded as a lawsuit. Its discovery phase, in which each side exchanges records and questions witnesses under oath, included depositions and expert witnesses, according to Sarai's account, and the case was being prepared for trial before it settled.

"When another lawyer sends a case here, it is usually because that case is going to need a jury, so we build it for one from the first month," Flanagan said. "A neck injury that ends in surgery is almost always disputed. Both sides retain medical experts, the treating doctors get deposed, and the defense tests every part of the medical record. Jessica has spent her career caring for people after serious crashes. Her own case took years of that work, and she stayed with it the whole way."

Sarai wrote that the firm kept her informed through the slow stretches of the case, "even during periods when we were simply waiting for movement from the other side." She wrote that Lyndall, who practiced insurance defense before joining Flanagan Law, spent time with her on video calls discussing the case and answering her questions.

Flanagan has tried cases against commercial carriers before. He was first chair on the plaintiff's trial team in a Fulton County wrongful death case against a trucking company that ended in a $99.9 million verdict, reported by Law.com's Daily Report. Flanagan holds a degree from Florida State University and a law degree from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School.
