"Journey's End", the gripping new novel by Ron Scaggs, transports readers to 1920s Missouri, where a young man's life takes a dramatic and dangerous turn. After a harmless prank spirals out of control, he is wrongfully imprisoned-an experience that hardens him and immerses him in the criminal underworld.
Upon his release, he finds himself in the quiet town of Journey's End. But appearances can be deceiving. Drawing on everything he learned behind bars, he begins to assert control over the town, uncovering its buried secrets along the way.
Interwoven throughout the novel are the rich and complex lives of Journey's End's residents-each with their own hidden pasts, sins, and stories to tell. As layers are peeled back, it becomes clear that this small town harbors more darkness than anyone could have imagined.
