Berkeley SkyDeck, the global hub for entrepreneurship and a leading accelerator, today confirmed its Demo Day for Batch 17 will take place April 10, 2024. Despite economic headwinds and fluctuations in the market, Berkeley SkyDeck startups have consistently raised capital, including more than $200 million over the last 12 months, a reflection of the companies’ sound business models and strong leadership teams. For Batch 17, over half of the 20 companies that will present are rooted in AI, with applications across multiple industries, including education, healthcare, enterprise software, data, and life sciences. Berkeley SkyDeck, a global hub for entrepreneurship and a leading accelerator, today announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation, UC Berkeley’s state-of-the-art interdisciplinary hub for learning and making at the intersection of design and technology. The partnership will allow for selected companies from each SkyDeck accelerator cohort access to the Jacobs Institute’s extensive and comprehensive facilities for prototyping hardware and products. The new partnership emphasizes the strong cross-functional collaboration between different parts of the UC Berkeley ecosystem to support entrepreneurs and startups.

Berkeley SkyDeck, a global hub for entrepreneurship and a leading accelerator, today announced that it has relaunched its Air and Space Track in collaboration with the recently-announced Berkeley Space Center at NASA Research Park (“Berkeley Space Center”). Berkeley SkyDeck, the global hub for entrepreneurship and a leading accelerator, today announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) to jointly leverage resources to further develop international startup and innovation support. Notably, the MoU includes JETRO support for Berkeley SkyDeck to launch a formal startup support program in Japan, which would be Berkeley SkyDeck’s second formal international program after Berkeley SkyDeck Milano in Europe.

Climate tech companies working to address both climate change and its effects can apply to a newly-launched specialized Climate Tech Track led by Shuo Yang, a general partner at leading climate tech venture capital firm, Lowercarbon Capital. Berkeley SkyDeck, the global hub for entrepreneurship and a leading accelerator, today announced that it has welcomed the first three companies for its new SkyDeck LSEC Bio Track: AsparaGlue, Editpep, and MZR Neurotech.
